Christian Ibarra leads Clelia Capital with a decade of combined experience in private equity, operations, and entrepreneurship.
In private equity, Christian has played a critical role in driving strategic growth, most notably as the lead consultant for SRC’s deal origination overhaul. Tasked with addressing the firm’s challenges in securing its next fund due to a limited network of strategic partnerships, he built SRC’s first-ever sourcing pipeline, outreach infrastructure, and marketing engine from the ground up. He developed high-impact marketing materials, implemented a tailored CRM system, and identified key industries for strategic expansion. His contributions enabled SRC to systematically source and expand partnerships, ensuring long-term fund sustainability and continued growth.
Additionally, Christian supported investment evaluation at Black Lake Capital, a middle-market private equity firm led by a distinguished managing partner whose career spans McKinsey, AEA Investors, and H.I.G. Capital. At Black Lake, he helped model and assess several SaaS and tech-enabled services companies. His contributions spanned comprehensive diligence processes, advising on market research, growth opportunities, operational risks and challenges, and turnaround strategies. He also played a key role in LOI negotiations—partnering with the managing partner to structure deal financing directly with investment bankers and lenders. This hands-on experience further sharpened his thesis-driven approach to identifying value and scaling operational performance.
Beyond private equity, Christian has a strong background in operational leadership. While at UPS, he directly managed operations grossing over $40M, expanded services to generate $5M in new revenue, and spearheaded operational transformations that saved over $72M annually. He also managed, trained, and optimized hundreds of employees directly and thousands indirectly, establishing his site as the model for all U.S. operations.
Christian holds a BBA in Finance and Marketing (Cum Laude) from the University of Kentucky’s Gatton School of Business and is currently at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business for a Master‘s with a concentration in Finance.
Christian is a decisive leader and forward-thinking operator with a proven track record in financial and operational roles. He bridges high-level strategy with execution on the ground, bringing deep business acumen to every venture. His focus is clear: unlock value, scale efficiently, and deliver exceptional outcomes.
